Description: The Ghadir is a long-range, ground-based, surveillance radar developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran under its domestic arms program. The radar system has been designed to detect and track airplanes at a maximum range of 600 kilometers and ballistic missiles at a range of 1,100 kilometers flying at altitudes of up to 100 kilometers. Besides, the sensor system can detect stealth aircraft, cruise missiles Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. The Ghadir radar system consists of 100 antennas capable of a full coverage (360-degree) rotation. This arrangement is well suited for operation in heavy jamming environments (Electronic Warfare) and in all climatic conditions. The first Ghadir radar system was placed into service on July 4, 2015.
