Description: The US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Homeland Defense Radar - Hawaii (HDR-H) is a ground-based radar station intended to support the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The HDR-H radar will provide autonomous acquisition and persistent precision tracking and discrimination to optimize the ballistic missile defense of the US and counter evolving threats such as hypersonic cruise missiles. The MDA awarded Lockheed Martin a $585 million contract in December 2018 for the design, development and delivery of the new radar by 2023.
