Description: The Israel Aerospace Industries' (IAI) M-19HD is a High Definition (HD), compact, electro-optical payload intended for a wide range of light aircraft, attack helicopters, aerostats and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The M-19HD consists of up to seven sensors, stabilized payload container, advanced image processing techniques and tracking system with multi-mode automatic video tracker (AVT). It also provides accurate geo-location using its embedded IMU/GPS (Inertial Measurement Unit/Global Positioning System). The payload has been designed to provide day/night all-weather surveillance at outstanding ranges. Heron 1 and Heron TP might be equipped with M-19HD pod to support long-endurance Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions operating at high and medium altitudes. IAI completed the first test flight on a light aircraft, which lasted two-and-a-half hours, on July 9, 2014.
The M-19HD pods weighs between 75 and 85 kilograms. It is fitted with two HD daylight cameras (zoom and spotter), two HD Infared (IR) cameras (zoom and spotter), laser designator with in-flight boresight, laser rangefinder, laser pointer, laser illuminator and electron-multiplied charged-coupled-device (EMCCD) camera or short-wave infrared (SWIR) camera.
