Description: The Mineral-ME is a shipborne multifunctional surface search radar intended for medium and large displacement surface fighting ships. The primary goal of the Mineral-ME radar system is searching, detection, tracking, identification, classification and positioning of surface targets. Besides, the radar acting in passive mode can detect airborne surveillance systems from afar (over-the-horizon). The Mineral-ME radar can serve for direction of anti-ship missiles even in coastal environments. The radar system comprises the I-band Mineral-ME1 active radar, (I,E,F,G and D bands) Mineral-ME2 passive radar and I-band Mineral-ME3 data exchange and orientation radar. In active mode the radar has a maximum detection range of 250 kilometers while in passive mode can detect targets at ranges of up to 450 kilometers. Weapon guidance is effective at a range of up to 30 kilometers while engaging up to 10 targets simultaneously. The Mineral-ME radar is able to monitor up to 200 surface targets, tracking up to 50 targets (passive) or 30 targets (active mode) while exchanging target data with up to 9 surface ships. This radar system was selected to detect surface targets onboard the cancelled Project 21956 Russian fourth generation destroyer. Other applications of the Mineral Radar are the Project 22800 class corvettes and Udaloy class destroyers.
