Description: The MiniPOP is a sophisticated, lightweight, stabilized day/night observation system for military and civil applications developed by IAI's Tamam Division. MiniPOP has been designed to be integrated into small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), armored vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and naval vessels. MiniPOP is a member of POP (Plug-in Optronic Payload) family of observation systems developed by IAI's Tamam Division. The basic design is a single Line-Replaceable-Unit (LRU) with several observation and targeting payloads.

The basic MiniPOP pod features a two axis, gyro-stabilized payload based on a plug-in sensor package that can replaced within minutes in the field. The sensor package includes day TV camera, Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera, and a laser pointer. In June 2007, Taman introduced a new version of MiniPOP fitted with up to four sensors with automatic video tracker capability. The new set of sensors comprises thermal imager, daylight TV camera, laser pointer and laser rangefinder.

The capabilities provided by MiniPOP are suitable for law enforcement against drug interdiction and smuggling detection; border and customs control; traffic monitoring; and crowd and riot control. Besides, the MiniPOP observation system can be used as a weapon sight for gun mounts.
