Description: The Sagem Advanced Panoramic Sight (SAPS) is a gyrostabilized optronic system combining short to long range air and land surveillance. The suite consists of video camera, infrared and laser sensors supporting the continuous, instantaneous and simultaneous surveillance of several threats, day or night under all weather conditions. It can detect and identify a wide array of targets such as foot soldiers, sharpshooters, light aircraft, drones, vehicles and fast landing craft. SAPS is connected to a Sigma 10 navigation system and incorporates a single- and multi-operator station designed to facilitate tactical decision-making. The system has been designed for integration on all-terrain vehicles and fixed stations.
SAPS open architecture allows the easy sharing of information between system operators and tactical or theater-level command units. The SAPS was introduced at the operational level at NATO demonstration Belcoast 09 in October 2009.
