Description: The SPEXER is a ground surveillance security radar family developed by Cassidian under the TRGS Sec program utilizing Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technology. The security radar has been designed to provide surveillance of border areas or sensitive industrial installations. The Tactical Radar Ground Surveillance, Security (TRGS Sec) is a huge border protection system based on the SPEXER radar family. The first batch of 40 radars was delivered for integration in a that huge border protection system. A military version was delivered to the German Army, as the launch customer, in early 2011. The SPEXER 2000 security radar was unveiled at International Defence Exhibition IDEX exhibition in February 2011.
The SPEXER 2000 is the basic model and the launch version of the security radar family covering all segments of security applications. The SPEXER 1500 is a version with maximum capabilities in smaller ranges. The SPEXER 2000 Coastal is a specific version for coastal surveillance. SPEXER 1500 and 2000 Coastal are expected to enter the market in late 2011. Other versions for the surveillance of critical infrastructure are planned for the near future. The AESA technology based upon a multitude of Transmit- and Receive Modules allows the radar to fulfill several tasks at the same time allowing a single SPEXER radar to replace two or more conventional security radars.
