Description: The SVP-24, also known as SVN-24 and Gefest, is a high-precision targeting system designed for integration on Russian aircraft to allow release of unguided weapons with a similar accuracy to laser or GPS-guided munitions. The SVP-24 targeting system was provided to the Russian Air Force Su-24M bombers and the Russian Navy Su-33 multirole fighter aircraft. The SVP-24 determines the optimal trajectory for unguided munitions taking into account the plane's location, flight parameters and target data as well as environmental parameters, including humidity, wind speed, angle of attack. All in, the system can achieve an accuracy of three to five meters. The SVP-24 targeting was successfully deployed for the first time in late 2015 as part of the Russian military campaign in Syria.
