Description: The Struna-1 is a new radar system developed by Almaz-Antey Concern to detect stealth aircraft at altitudes below 7,000 meters lacking the ability of tracking the target. The Struna-1 bistatic radar features the emitter and receiver placed in two different locations to spot stealth aircraft. The radar system accepts up to 10 pair of emitter/receiver towers. By emitting lower power compared with other conventional radar the Struna-1 minimizes the possibility of detection by Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) means. Besides, the radar system is also suitable to spot gliders and cruise missiles provided with stealth coating. The new radar system is expected to be deployed along other anti-stealth detection systems by the Russian Armed Forces. The Struna-1 was ready for deployment in January 2020.
