Description: The US Air Force Talon HATE is a pod intended for the F-15C Eagle aircraft improving communication and information sharing among a variety of platforms such as joint aircraft, ships and ground stations. This advanced pod combines information coming from fighter networks, national sources and joint command and control assets transmitted over data-links. This system integrates the Intra Flight Data Link (IFDL) used on F-22 aircraft within a proven flight communications system, called the Multifunctional Information Distribution System-JTRS (or MIDS-J). MIDS-J serves as a host for multiple concurrent communications waveforms that are essential for Talon HATE forward operations. The Talon HATE program is being managed by Boeing with the first operational squadron receiving the new system in 2015.
