Description: The Vehicle and Dismount Exploitation Radar (VADER) is a new sensor payload system launched in 2006 and being developed by Northrop Grumman. DARPA and Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Office (JIEDDO) are funding the VADER program for use with the US Army's Sky Warrior Unmanned Aerial Vehicle allowing accurate Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) data and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery. The data provided by the VADER radar sensor will be available for ground commanders in real time. The new sensor payload is expected to complete developmental testing in 2008.
