Description: The Thales LIROD Mk2 is a lightweight, autonomous, short-range, high accuracy fire control system designed for medium-displacement fighting ships such as corvettes and frigates. This fire control radar is resistant to jamming thanks to its sophisticated built-in ECCM facilities. Pulse Doppler tracking combined with Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) data processing and variation of RF frequency permits to overcome the effects of heavy clutter environment. LIROD Mk2 can operate in passive mode utilizing electro-optic sensors as an alternative to radar.
