WIZARD

IOC: 2007
Origin: Israel

Contractor/s: Rafael

Description: WIZARD (Wideband Zapping Anti-Radar Decoy) is naval decoy system based on rotatable launchers and fourth-generation decoys. The WIZARD defeats incoming threat by deploying a combination of corner reflectors instead of traditional chaff and discrimination algorithms which balance the threat counter-countermeasures. The Israeli Navy began testing the new decoy system at sea in January 2006. An initial operational capability for WIZARD was anticipated by early 2007.
