Description: The Thales Kingklip is a medium frequency hull mounted sonar designed to detect submerged submarines, torpedoes and mine-like obstacles installed on corvettes, frigates or destroyers. The Kingklip sonar features active and passive operating modes as well as continuous availability not limited by sea conditions. Coupled with a towed sonar, it can provide 360-degree full coverage independently of the ship's propulsion being on/off. Its compact and lightweight array can be mounted on either keel or bow delivering concurrent active surveillance and Torpedo Warning function. Other sonar characteristics are a wide suite of long and short pulse shapes and beam stabilization in reception.
