Description: The Saab Swordfish is a family of multi-role maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) based upon the Bombardier Q400 turboprop and Global 6000 jet. Swordfish mission system is designed to carry out a wide range of maritime C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) missions and combat roles. The aircraft avionics suite includes COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) sensors, electronic warfare system from Saab and C4I mission management system.

The Global 6000 Swordfish is a jet-powered aircraft capable of performing long-endurance aircraft can perform maritime patrol, search and rescue (SAR), anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASuW) missions as well as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) flights.
