Description: BAE Systems SkyLynx is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition missions using a high-resolution electro-optical/infrared imager, IR marker, and laser rangefinder integrated on one gimbaled set. Powered by a UEL-741 engine, its payload capacity is for up to 70 pounds and can remain on station for over 16 hours. SkyLynx is mission-configurable and thus provides a flexible solution for modern warfare.

In May 2006, BAE Systems submitted its SkyLynx-based bid to the US Marine Corps Tier II Unnamed Aircraft System (UAS) requirement. A single SkyLynx system can be transported by two CH-46 helicopters and consists of three UAVs, a launcher, a ground control station, a remote receive terminal, and a six-man crew. BAE Systems concluded Skylynx II test campaign for the Marine Corps at Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona, in early August 2006.
