Description: The ADCOM Systems Yabhon United 40 Block 5, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is a medium altitude, long endurance (MALE) unmanned air vehicle (UAV) featuring ultra-long flight endurance of up to 100 hours. It is a derivative of the United 40 MALE but replacing the tail-mounted single propeller by two above the wing mounted engines. The outstanding tandem double-wing glider is the key to its ultra-long endurance. The United 40 Block 5 is suitable for near real-time combat assessment; battle damage assessment (BDA); intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR); special operations utilizing the Namrod air-to-surface missile; support of humanitarian aid; border security; and communications relay missions. The aircraft can be outfitted with two ADFLIR pods and four under-wing pods with a payload of 100kg each. Besides, the United 40 Block 5 can be equipped with a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and terrain avoidance sensor.

The propulsion system drives two two-blade propellers located above the frontal wings and allowing a cruise speed from 120 to 200 kilometers per hour. The main engines are rated at 115-hp each which translates into 230-hp with both engines combined. Each United 40 Block 5 aircraft can be loaded with four Namrod missiles under its rear wings. Compared with the United 40 the Block 5 aircraft is heavier (2,000 vs. 1,500 kg), not so fast due to the additional drag provided by the two wing-mounted engines and a bit smaller in terms of wingspan. In December 2013, the Russian Air Force selected the United 40 Block 5 aircraft to undergo trials for evaluation in early 2014.
