Description: The IAI MBT Missiles Division Barak-8 is an advanced long-range, vertical launch, surface-to-air missile designed to effectively engage multiple aircraft and missile threats. Barak-8's flexibility allows for multiple missile launch simultaneously in intense clutter environments. The Barak-8 missile features an active radar seeker, a two-way data link with weapon control system, a dual pulse motor providing enhanced maneuverability and an improved warhead. The missile has been designed for operation in conjunction with the EL/M-2248 MF-STAR phased array multifunction radar in naval applications. The missile is stored inside a canister/vertical launch system which has been designed to provide low infrared signature at the launch thus increasing the ship's survivability.
