Description: RIM-72 Sea Chaparral is a ship-based air defense system utilizing AIM-9 Sidewinder short range missile. Sea Chaparral point air defense system was provided to Taiwan's Kang Ding frigates. This missile system was criticized by its poor performance. Ground-based Chaparral point air defense is mounted on M730 armored vehicle.
