Description: The HHQ-16 is a medium-range vertically-launched surface-to-air missile (SAM) developed by China to provide air defense for surface ships. The new missile system will be deployed onboard the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Type 054A/Jiangkai II frigates before 2010. It is said that the HHQ-16 missile is based on the Russian 9M38 missile.
