Germany

Contractor/s
Rheinmetall Defence

Description: Carolo P50 is a re-usable Micro Aerial Vehicle (MAV) that can fly autonomously relying on a GPS-based navigation system. It is intended for both military and civil markets and due to its small size it can fit into a backpack. This man-portable system is based on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components and provides real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR)

Military customers can use Carolo P50 to get a bird's eye view of what is happening on "the other side of the hill" or even "behind the next wall" in urban terrain. It comprises three main components: aircraft with exchangeable payloads, the ground station and the transport pack with built-in antenna. The UAV is powered by an electrical motor with a folding propeller on the nose.
