Museco

Program Status: Under Development
First Flight: 8 April 2010
Origin: Germany

Contractor/s: EMT* and Swiss UAV

Description: The Museco is a tactical unmanned rotorcraft with a radius of operation in excess of 100 kilometers and a flight endurance of two hours operating from land locations or ships at sea. The rotorcraft provides all-weather reconnaissance, identification and target location in real time equipped with a modular payload that may include infrared, electro-optical or synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors. Besides, the air vehicle can carry meteorological sensors, gas and particle samplers, radio relay, mine sweeping sensors and sensors for radioactive contamination. Museco is powered by a 14 Kw heavy fuel turboshaft engine. It can follow either a pre-programmed flight path or being directed by an operator at the control station using a two-way microwave data link. As of summer 2010 EMT is still developing the Museco tactical unmanned rotorcraft system.
