Description:
The Scorpio is a lightweight unmanned rotorcraft designed for maximum flexibility performing day/night surveillance missions in urban terrain, in the mountain or at sea. The Scorpio features autonomous flight control and navigation, a variety of payloads depending on mission requirements, secure real-time data-links and ease of maintenance and operation. According to EADS, the Scorpio Vertical TakeOff and Landing (VTOL) air vehicle is suitable for: homeland security; Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) in support of military units; and surveillance in urban areas.
