Description: The AVibras Viaturas Blindadas Leves (AV-VBL), also known as AV-BL, is a 12-ton class all-terrain, high mobility, modular, multi-purpose armored vehicle derived from UNIMOG 4x4 off-road platform. The vehicle can be transported by a single C-130 Hercules aircraft and shows excellent performance in cross-country, desert, sand or mud, as well as under extreme environmental conditions. Typically within the Brazilian Armed Forces, the AV-VBL vehicles are deployed in support of the ASTROS II rocket artillery system.

The AV-VB4-RE Guara is a 4x4 light armored reconnaissance vehicle with a flexible design to serve as command post, anti-tank, ground surveillance radar, forward observation and mortar carrier. The Guara vehicle features: High mobility on extreme terrain conditions; High speed on roads; Long range on/off-road; Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS); ABS Brake System; Outstanding under armor internal space; Effective mine protection; 7.62 mm AP Ballistic Protection; Weapon mount for .50 (12.7mm)� Heavy Machine Gun, 7.62mm Machine Gun or 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher; Low operational and maintenance costs by using the Mercedes-Benz Unimog 4x4 chassis; and High reliability.

The Brazilian Army in a joint effort with Avibras Aeroespacial deployed operationally to Haiti the AV-VB4-RE Guara in a peacekeeping mission for the first time in March 2010.
