Description: The AVibras Viaturas Blindadas Leves (AV-VBL), also known as AV-BL, is a 12-ton class all-terrain, high mobility, modular, multi-purpose armored vehicle derived from UNIMOG 4x4 off-road platform. The vehicle can be transported by a single C-130 Hercules aircraft and shows excellent performance in cross-country, desert, sand or mud, as well as under extreme environmental conditions. Typically within the Brazilian Armed Forces, the AV-VBL vehicles are deployed in support of the ASTROS II rocket artillery system.

The AV-BVL spacious interior allows the transportation of fully equipped infantrymen, personnel or cargo and can be armed with roof-mounted machine guns. Its modular design makes it suitable for multiple tasks such as logistics support, police patrol, ambulance, and C4IR (command, control, computer, intelligence and reconnaissance). This tactical vehicle is powered by a 280-hp diesel engine allowing a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour on road.
