Description:
The Eagle 4x4 armored reconnaissance vehicle is based on the chassis of the proven HMMWV Hummer. It is suitable for reconnaissance, surveillance, liaison, escort, border patrol and police missions.
The Eagle vehicle comprises a modified Hummer chassis, an armored superstructure designated and manufactured by MOWAG, and the armored observation cupola MBK2 also developed and manufactured by MOWAG. The Eagle can be armed with a 7.62mm machine gun mounted on the MBK2 turret.
The EAGLE retains the basic features of Hummer and is air transportable by C-130 and helicopter. The MBK 2 cupola offers 360-degree observation coverage being operated from inside of the Eagle vehicle. In addition of the MBK2 turret the Eagle can accommodate different turrets to meet several missions. For example: a Mistral missile turret to provide short range air defense.
The Eagle III has been designed to carry out forward observation missions supporting field artillery. It determines target coordinates and relays this information to the field artillery or command and control centers. In order to achieve that goal the Eagle III is provided with an observation mast, containing CCD-TV, IR, and laser range finder, and workstations for the crew.
