Description:
The Navistar MaxxPro Dash is a MaxxPro variant focusing on greater mobility in a smaller, lighter weight vehicle optimized for Afghanistan operations while leveraging the survivability and commonality of parts with its parent platform. A smaller turning radius and higher torque to weight ratio are among the improvements to mobility, while being capable of accommodating additional up-armoring. The new variant also features maximized supportability and maintainability. The US Marine Corps (USMC) awarded Navistar Defense a $752 million contract on September 4, 2008, for the development and production of 822 MaxxPro Dash vehicles.
The MaxxPro Dash is powered by the MaxxForce D engine. The new variant belongs to Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle category featuring enhanced survivability, mobility and adaptability.
