It features a monocoque steel hull and high mobility thanks to its all wheel drive. It is powered by a 320-hp diesel engine developing a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour on road. PMV Survivor II features STANAG 4569 level protection with modular add-on armor kits providing Level 3 protection against bombardment and Level 4a/3b against mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Two Survivor II vehicles can be airlifted by a single C-130 or C-160 transport aircraft.

The PMV Survivor II vehicle can be equipped with Kongsberg's Protector station and other remote weapon stations operated under armor as well as a man-hatch with ladder cage. The basic configuration includes seating for five-man but can be expanded to up to 10-man with eight-man in the rear compartment.
