Description: The Penicillin is a counter-battery passive sensor system designed to determine the firing spots of howitzers, mortars, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), anti-aircraft and tactical missiles at a distance of up to 25 kilometers. The system can pinpoint the location of hostile artillery in less than five seconds without any radiofrequency emission based solely on a combination of visible and infrared imaging (1B75 sensor suite) along with acoustic and seismic signals (1B76 sensor suite). The system is mounted on a single 8x8 Kamaz-6350 truck and can be operated remotely. Besides, the vehicle's real-time communication system has an effective range of 40 kilometers. The Penicillin sensor system has been designed by Ruselectronics is expected to enter mass production for the Russian Armed Forces by 2019. The system was undergoing trials in May 2017 and is totally immune to anti-radiation missiles or any other means used to neutralize fire finding radars.
