Description: The QL550 is a light, high mobility, 4x4 tactical armored vehicle developed by NORINCO to meet the requirements of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The QL550 has been designed to perform the following missions: reconnaissance, command and liaison, troops carrier, ambulance, and riot-control vehicles, and utility weapon platform equipped with anti-tank missiles and air defense missile systems. Overall, the vehicle looks like the Puma 4x4 operated by the Italian Army. The QL550 completed its qualification trials and was cleared for mass production in 2006.

The QL550 tactical vehicle can be air-lifted and thus it is suitable for airborne and rapid reaction forces. The basic model is equipped with a roof-mounted 12.7mm machine gun and air conditioned as well as other equipment such as self-diagnosis computer. The vehicle has a crew of four-man on the front compartment and the troops compartment has a seating capacity of eight. Its lightweight armor provides ballistic protection against 7.62mm ammunition.
