Description: The BAE Systems Land Systems South Africa RG-21 is a 4x4 mine protected vehicle combining the battle proven RG series protection with commercially available host vehicle driveline, running gear, and electronics supplied by Italy's Iveco Defence Vehicles. The resulting vehicle offers outstanding maintainability and reliability. The use of a commercial platform and Commerical Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technologies means that it can be manufactured and supported by local companies in any country. The vehicle can be configured for a variety of missions thanks to role specific kits and its modular interior layout utilizing interchangeable mounting rail systems. The RG21 also features superior protection levels of 21kg under any wheel and 14kg under the hull. The RG21 was launched on September 16, 2014.
