Description: The Panhard Vehicule d'Action dans la Profondeur (VAP), or deep penetration vehicle in English, is a 4x4 armored vehicle designed for special operation forces to conduct reconnaissance, target designation and evacuation missions deep in enemy territory. Moreover, it can operate in extreme geographical and climatic conditions. Thanks to its 1,500 kg payload, the VAP is well suited for long haul missions carrying a four-man crew and loaded with a variety of different weapon systems and the latest generation of observation, tracking and communications equipment. In addition to its ballistic protection, the vehicle is fitted with an armored floor thus having good anti-mine protection. The VAP is powered by a 2.1-liter turbo diesel STEYR engine developing 130-hp and allowing a maximum speed of 120 kph.
