TE-2

Origin:Russia

Description: The TE-2 is an autonomous and remotely controlled homing torpedo designed to engage both surface ships (autonomous mode) and submarines (remotely controlled mode). The electric propulsion system allows a cruise speed of 32-kt to 48-kt engaging targets between 20 meters and 600 meters in depth. Surface targets must be more than 3 meters in draught in order to the TE-2 to effectively engage them. The warhead is detonated via an electromagnetic fuse. Te-2-01 features mechanical data input while TE-2-02 features electric data input. The TE-2-03 features electric data input and improved performance. The TE-2-03 torpedo has a maximum range of 30,000 meters at 33 knots in remotely controlled mode over 15,000 meters at 48 knots in autonomous mode.
