Description: The Type 97 is an air-launched lightweight torpedo developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Japan developed the Type 97 torpedo as the replacement for the Mark 46 torpedo. This weapon has been provided to the SH-60K anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter.
