Description:
The G5-2000 is a 155mm 52-caliber towed howitzer with improved accuracy and range over the G5 artillery system. Firing the V-LAP projectile the G5-2000 has a maximum range of 55 km, with Base-Bleed projectiles 42.5 km, and employing conventional projectiles the range is 32 km. In addition, it can fire 3 rounds in just 18 seconds (maybe 15 seconds), and a maximum rate of fire of 6 rounds/minute.
The G5-2000 features multiple rounds simultaneous impact capability, self-propelled capability through the auxiliary power unit, autonomous navigation system, high accuracy, and digital data transfer.
The G5-2000 artillery system is still under development and will be compatible with all NATO 155mm ammunition.
