South Korea's K200 is an amphibious armored personnel carrier developed by Daewoo Heavy Industries & Machinery, now Doosan Infracore, based on US AIFV. Doosan Infracore developed a complete family of armored vehicles based on the K200/Korean Infantry Fighting Vehicle tracked chassis. These vehicles are powered by a diesel engine rated at 350-hp and weigh roughly 13 tons. The Korean Army took delivery of first K200 vehicle in 1984. Several thousands vehicles have been produced for South Korea so far. Malaysia remains as the sole export customer.
K200 is basically an armored troops transport. K200A1 is an improved variant with enhanced mobility and greater acceleration. K200 is equipped with a 12.7mm and 7.62mm machine guns on the vehicle's cupola. Malaysia purchased approx. 111 K200s armored personnel carriers in the early 1990s.
