Description: The Ivchenko-Progress D-436 engine family, based on the D-36 engine, has been designed to power twin-engine short-range turbojet passenger aircraft. Its basic design comprises 14 modules. The D-436 engines feature low fuel consumption, high environmental safety standards, low operating costs and longer service life than previous engines powering twin-engine short range aircraft. The Tu-334, Be-200, Yak-42D-100 and An-148 aircraft are powered by the D-436 engine family.

The D-436T1/T2/T3 engines have been designed to power the Tupolev Tu-334 aircraft family. The D-436T1 engine powers the Tu-334 basic model, the D-436T2 engine is intended to power the Tu-334-200, and the D-436T3 is intended for the Tu-230 aircraft. The D-436T1 was certified in 2000. Motor Sich, Salut and Ufa Engine Manufacturing plant produce the engine in cooperation.

The AI-436T12, formerly known as the D-436TX, is a derivative of D-436T1 engine developing up to 12,000 kg of thrust at takeoff.
