Description:
The Williams International FJ44 is a family of highly reliable jet engines providing between 1,500 to 3,600 pounds of thrust and designed to power light business jet aircraft of short- to medium-range. The FJ44 engine enables light jets operations from short runways typically assigned to small turboprops. In addition, the FJ44 engine family fuel efficiency combined with its low acquisition and operating costs make light jets more attractive than turboprops and not fuel efficient turbofan-powered aircraft.
The Williams International FJ44-4 features the best thrust-to-weight ratio in its thrust class, and it incorporates several proprietary aerodynamic improvements that yield a significant reduction in fuel consumption. It derives from the FJ44-3A engine making use of the same full authority digital electronic control (FADEC). The FJ44-4A electronically controlled engine was selected to power the Cessna Citation CJ4 business jet starting in 2010 and delivering 3,400 pounds of thrust per engine.
