Description: The Pratt & Whitney PW4062 is a new variant of successful PW4000 commercial engine family selected by Boeing to power domestic and international KC-767 global tanker transport aircraft. The PW4000 engines feature FADEC for fuel consumption efficiency.

The PW4000 94-inch fan engine, along with General Electric's CF6 and Rolls Royce's RB211, was selected to power the Boeing 767 aircraft family.

The PW4062 is a 60,000-lb class engine offering low operation and maintenance costs and high reliability. It represents the first military application of PW4000 series engines.

On 22 June 2006, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways and Boeing announced an order for six 747-400ERFs (747-400ER Freighters). The airplanes were valued at $1.4 billion and scheduled for delivery beginning in 2008. On 17 July 2006, Cathay Pacific and Pratt & Whitney signed the engine contract valued at more than $300 million. The deal included 24 PW4062A installation engines and three spare engines.
