Description:
The RB211-535 is a three-shaft, high by-pass-ratio turbofan designed to power the Boeing 757 commercial aircraft. The first model RB211-535C entered service in 1983 and about 80% of B757 customers have selected this engine to power their aircraft. This engine is highly reliable and its operators benefit from low maintenance costs.
According to Rolls-Royce estimates, there are more than 1,200 RB211-535 turbofans powering B757 all over the world. These engines have logged more than 30 million flight hours in service with more than 50 airlines worldwide.
The RB211-535E4 is an advanced version of -535C model features extensive use of computer-designed aerodynamics and higher-thrust (40,100-lb). It powers the B757-200, B757-300 and Tu-204 jetliners. It has also been recommended to power a modernized B-52 variant.
