Description:
Rolls Royce Tay is a family of turbofan engines providing between 13,850- to 15,400-lb of thrust and intended for jetliner applications. This engine features outstanding reliability, durability, low emissions and quiet operation. The latest Tay models also include Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC). As of 2005 Tay engines are powering more than 750 aircraft all over the world and have accumulated approximately 15 million flight hours. So far main aircraft application for Tay engines has been Gulfstream GIV and GV business jetliners.
Tay 611-8 engine was selected to power Gulfstream GIV, GIV-SP, G300, G350, G400 and G450 jetliners providing extreme reliability and durability. Tay 611-8C, a member of 611-8 version, provides13,850-lb of thrust and is powering G350 and G450 business jets. Tay 650 engine is powering Fokker 100 aircraft; Tay 620 Fokker 70 and Fokker 100; and Tay 651 was installed on re-engined Boeing 727-100 airliner.
