Description: Trent 800 engines were developed to power Boeing 777 airliners providing thrusts ranging from 75,000 to 95,000 pounds. It evolved from Trent 700 engine and its three-shaft configuration and second generation hollow titanium wide-chord fan technology makes the Trent 800 engine lighter than its competitors.

The lightweight, high-thrust Trent 800 engine has secured 44% orders for Boeing 777 aircraft. Trent 892 engine rated at 92,000-lb entered service in 1997 powering Boeing 777-200ER and subsequently second generation 777, Boeing 777-300 model.

Boeing and Israeli carrier El Al Airlines finalized a purchase agreement December 13, 2005 for two Boeing 777-200ER airliners valued at $362 million. Aircraft deliveries were scheduled for 2007. Rolls Royce Trent 892 engine was selected to power those aircraft.
