Description: The 57mm Mk 3 naval gun has been designed for integration on next generation of low signature/stealth vessels. It is available in both stealth and non-stealth versions. The 57mm Mk 3 gun fires 57mm 3P 6-mode programmable ammunition suitable against both surface and airborne targets. Its magazine has a capacity of120 rounds.

The versatile, low-observable 57mm Mk 3 gun turret can be installed on ships of 150 tons or more. The 57mm family of guns is currently in service in 15 navies worldwide.

In early February 2005, Bofors Defence AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Defense, was awarded a 11 million Euro contract for two 57mm naval guns to be integrated into Squadron 2000 vessels. According to Bofors Defence, Finland will take delivery of the first naval gun in 2005 and the second in 2006.
