Description: The ST Kinetics Redback is a lightweight Land Remote Weapon Station (LRWS) designed for integration on any armored fighting and logistics vehicle or fast craft. The weapon station is operated by the vehicle's crew protected below armor. The LRWS platform features modular design for future growth, stabilized mount, ease of maintenance and low life cycle cost. The sensor package consists of a day camera, night camera or optional infrared imager, and a laser rangefinder. The RLWS platform accepts a wide range of guns such as 40mm automatic grenade launcher, 40mm grenade launcher, .50 (12.7mm) machine gun, lightweight automatic grenade launcher, 5.56mm and 7.62mm machine guns. Optionally, the weapon station can be provided with smoke grenade launchers. The Redback configuration comprises four 40mm automatic grenade launchers capable of firing high explosive (HE) and Air Bursting (AB) ammunition and delivering rates of fire of 3,000 rounds per minute.
