Also Known As: UT-25 and UT30 BR (Brazilian Army)
Origin: Israel
Contractor/s: Elbit Systems
Description: The Elbit Systems UT-30 is a dual-axis stabilized unmanned turret designed to turn an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) into an Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) with no deck penetration. The UT-30 unmanned turret includes a sensor package and a 30mm gun each of them with its own independent stabilization system. The UT-25 is basically the same unmanned turret but equipped with a 25mm gun. UT-30 and UT-20 turrets feature very low silhouette, light weight and a fold-flat capability. Both can accept anti-tank missiles delivering enhanced IFV combat capability.
In January 2011, the UT30 BR unmanned turret equipped with a 30mm cannon was selected by the Brazilian Army to be installed onboard a few hundreds VBTP-MR 6x6 armored vehicles. The contract valued at $260 million was awarded to Aeroeletronica.
