China Aviation Supplies Import and Export Group Corporation (CASGC) General Terms Agreement (GTA) for the purchase of 150 A320 family aircraft and a Letter of Intent (LOI) for 20 A350XWB aircraft signed with Airbus in Beijing on October 26, 2006. In parallel, Airbus signed the Framework Agreement with a Chinese Consortium comprising Tianjin Free Trade Zone (TJFTZ), China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I) and China Aviation Industry Corporation II (AVIC II) in Beijing on the establishment of an A320 Family Final Assembly Line in China. The assembly line should be operational in early 2009 and fully operational in 2011 with the production rate reaching 4 aircraft per month. CASGC will take delivery of 15 A320s; Shenzhen Airlines 28 A320s, Sichuan Airlines 18 A320s, Hainan Airlines 13 A320s, Spring Airlines and Juneyao Airlines six A320 family aircraft respectively. Totaling 86 aircraft out of 150. Sichuan Airlines selected the V2500 engine to power 18 A320s on November 4, 2008. The V2500 engine contract was valued at $700 million.

On 7 December 2005, Finland's carrier Finnair selected Airbus A350-900 and A340-300E/Enhanced airliners for its fleet modernization program. The A350-900 order was for nine aircraft with the first one to be delivered in 2011. A350-900 engine decision was delayed to March 20, 2006, when Finnair announced that Rolls-Royce Trent 1700 was the engine powering these airplanes. The engine contract was valued at $470 million. In late March 2006 Finnair confirmed the order, took four options and delayed the first aircraft delivery to 2012. The A340-300E order was for three aircraft powered by CFM56-5C4/P engines. The first A340 delivery was due in the spring of 2007. Finnair signed the firm order contract for 11 A350XWB aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines on March 8, 2007. The engine contract was valued at $600 million at list prices. The order also included a mix of seven A340-300 and A330 aircraft. With this contract Finnair became the first airline to place a firm order for the Airbus A350 XWB wide-body passenger aircraft.

On 13 June 2005, Airbus announced that Qatar Airways had ordered 60 A350 jetliners valued at approximately $10.6 billion with delivered expected to run from mid-2010 through 2015. The A350 to be delivered to Qatar Airways will be a mix of A350-800 and A350-900 models. The announcement was made public at the Paris Air Show 2005 in Le Bourget, France. Qatar Airways took this decision due to the commonality between the A350 and the A330/340 airplanes which Qatar-based carrier was operating. On May 30, 2007, Qatar Airways signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for 80 A350 XWB airliners. The new agreement, superseding the first one, included 20 A350-800s, 40 A350-900s and 20 A350-1000s with first deliveries due in 2013. Qatar Airways added a further three A380-800s to this agreement at Le Bourget on June 18, 2007. In parallel, Qatar Airways selected the Rolls Royce Trent XWB engine to power its new A350s. The engine contract was valued at $5.6 billion including a TotalCare long term services agreement.

On 14 June 2005, Kuwait-based ALAFCO leasing company placed an order by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 12 Airbus A350-800s with options on six aircraft. Deliveries were set to begin in the third quarter of 2012. ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company achieved an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of 12 firm, six option A350-800 aircraft powered by GEnX engines at Dubai on November 20, 2005. This announcement confirmed the commitment released in June 2005. Aircraft deliveries were due to commence in the third quarter of 2012. ALAFCO signed a firm contract for 12 A350 XWBs and seven A320s on June 18, 2007. Finally, ALAFCO selected the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine to power its 12 A350s on June 20, 2007. The Trent XWB engine contract was valued at $480 million.

On 15 June 2005, Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines placed an order with Airbus for five A330-200s, five A350-800s, and five double-deck A380-800s. Kingfisher was expected to take delivery of the first A350 in 2012. Kingfisher Airlines and Airbus signed a new memorandum of understanding for the purchase of 15 additional A350-800 XWB airplanes at the Paris Air Show on June 20, 2007. On 18 August 2005, CIT Group signed an agreement with Airbus on five A350-800 and 24 A320 passenger airplanes. Deliveries of the A350 aircraft to CIT Group will start in 2012. CIT Group and Airbus signed a firm contract with Airbus at the Paris Air Show on June 20, 2007. The contract was for the purchase of seven A350 XWBs powered by Trent XWB engines and 25 A320 family aircraft. The engine contract was valued at $300 million. On 21 July 2006, Singapore Airlines signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Airbus at Farnborough air show for nine A380-800s plus six options and for 20 A350-900s plus another 20 as options. The first A350 XWB airplane was planned for delivery to Singapore Airlines in 2012. Airbus also announced that the Asian carrier was leasing 19 A330-300s between 2009 and 2010.
