TAM also signed an agreement for 8+7 and later 10+5 A350-900s which was finally converted into a memorandum of understanding for 22 A350 XWB in June 2007 (described separately). Brazilian carrier TAM firm order for the acquisition of 37 Airbus aircraft from the A320 and A330 family of aircraft announced on November 16, 2006. The contract included 12 A319s, 16 A320s, 3 A321s (with V2500 engine) and 6 A330-200s and TAM took 12 aircraft options. TAM selected the Pratt & Whitney PW4170 engine to power its six A330-200s. The engine deal valued at $345 million including spare engines was announced at the Paris Air Show on June 19, 2007.

Brazilian carrier TAM placed an order for eight Airbus A350-900s plus options on seven airplanes on 16 June 2005, . The final agreement for 10 firm order Airbus A350-900s plus five options was signed on December 21, 2005. Aircraft deliveries were scheduled to start at the end of 2012. In early January 2006, TAM selected General Electric GEnX engine to power its 10 Airbus A350-900 airplanes. Airbus and TAM converted this agreement into a memorandum of understanding for 22 A350 XWBs on June 29, 2007. In parallel, TAM placed a firm order for an additional four A330-200s. Finally, TAM signed a firm contract with Airbus for 22 A350XWBs, four A330-200s and an additional 20 A320s on January 21, 2008. TAM selected PW4000-100 engine to power two A330s on July 15, 2008. The PW4000-100 engine contract was valued at $100 million.
