Spain's Ministry of Interior, on behalf of Servicio Aereo de la Guardia Civil, order for two EADS CASA CN-235 aircraft in maritime patrol configuration. Deliveries are scheduled for mid 2008 and spring 2009. Equipped with FLIR (Forward Look Infrared) and FITS (Fully Integrated Tactical System), these aircraft will serve in missions against drug trafficking, illegal immigration, border patrol missions, maritime search and rescue, etc, based at the Canary Island and South of Spain. The deal was announced on December 18, 2007.
