AeroThrust Signs $100 Million JT8D Parts and Repairs OEMRO™ Agreement
PARIS AIR SHOW, PARIS, France, June 18, 2007 – Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company, signed a five-year, $100 million Global Service Partners (GSP) part replacement and repair agreement with AeroThrust. Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney will provide JT8D turbine airfoil repairs and replacement parts for AeroThrust. This agreement renews and extends an existing agreement for JT8D part repairs that expired in March.
“We were looking for a single provider for JT8D part repairs and scrap replacement parts,” said Jose Leon, senior vice president of AeroThrust. “Pratt & Whitney offered original equipment manufacturer (OEM) value at a competitive price for part repairs as well as for new and used material.”
Based in Miami, AeroThrust is an independent provider of JT8D and CFM56® engine maintenance, repair and overhaul services in the United States, serving the worldwide needs of global passenger and cargo airlines.
“Pratt & Whitney’s unique OEM and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) offerings, 24/7 help center and performance were key to winning this agreement,” said Jim Keenan, senior vice president & general manager, Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. “We look forward to continuing and broadening our relationship with AeroThrust.”
