EMBRAER AND AEROMXICO SIGN A CONTRACT FOR 12 EMBRAER 190 JETS

So José dos Campos, July 14, 2008 Embraer signed a contract with Aeroméxico for incorporating 12 EMBRAER 190 jets into its fleet as part of the airline's modernization plan. The new aircraft will be flown by its Aeroméxico Connect subsidiary, which already operates 28 ERJ 145 jets, and has taken operating leases on four EMBRAER 190 jets from GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS), since November 2007. This operation is already included in Embraer's 2008 second-quarter firm order backlog.

"We appreciate Aeroméxico's new order and are honored to be able to support this airline's decision to renew its fleet with highly efficient, high-technology aircraft," said Mauro Kern, Embraer Executive Vice President, Airline Market. "Embraer and Aeroméxico share the history of a successful commercial alliance and we are confident that this new agreement will further strengthen our good relations."

Aeroméxico was Embraer's launch customer for both the ERJ 145 and the E-Jets families in Mexico, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. The airline's new EMBRAER 190s will have the same configuration as the first four, that is, 99 seats in a dual-class layout 11 executive class and 88 coach. The efforts put forth to achieve a perfect combination of high performance, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction confirm Aeroméxico's goal to keep its current position as the leading Mexican carrier in the domestic and international air transportation markets.

The EMBRAER 190 is one of four members of the E-Jets family and entered service in August 2005. On June 30, 2008, the EMBRAER 170/190 family of E-Jets had logged 847 firm orders and 827 options from more than 45 customers in 30 countries on five continents, and had surpassed 1.5 million flight hours.
